Seeking a church home?

If you are new to WUMC and looking for a church home, we want to help you become better acquainted with our church and our church family. To make that happen, we invite you to stop by our welcome center in the church parlor on Sunday morning. There you can pick up brochures and information sheets describing our Sunday School, children's ministries, youth ministries, and other aspects of church life. If you come by during the Sunday School hour (between 10 and 11), a friendly person will be there to greet you and answer your questions, and, if you like, they will be happy to take you on a tour of the church building, a wonderful way to learn about the church, its programs, and its family.

Other ways to get connected at WUMC include ...

  • Join us for coffee and fellowship in the parlor anytime between 8:30 and noon on Sunday morning.
  • Join us for worship on several Sundays and try out the different services to find one that particularly appeals to you.
  • Visit a Sunday School class and introduce yourself to the people there. We have classes for all ages.
  • If you have small children, talk to the people in charge of the crib room and toddler room. They can fill you in on what's available for families at WUMC.
  • Pick up an info sheet about our small group ministry. We have groups for all ages and many different interests, and they welcome visitors. Prayer, study, fellowship, and service are the key elements of our small groups... A great way to make new and lasting friends.
  • Come to Alpha! Alpha is an 11 week course in the basics of Christianity. While it doesn't focus on WUMC, it is a wonderful way to strengthen your faith, explore life issues from a faith-related viewpoint, and meet new people. It's also a great way to experience the love of God, as you share a meal and explore faith issues with a small group of new friends. Alpha is offered three times each year. For more information, pick up an Alpha flyer at the Welcome Center.

One last word...

If you feel at home here and would like to become a member of our church family, speak to one of the pastors. They will be very happy to answer your questions, explain the membership process, and provide you with a fellowship friend who will help you strengthen your connection to WUMC.

Reflecting

  ...on Stewardship

"You are blessed to be a blessing". When we live in gratitude for what we have received through the grace of God, we understand that we have a responsibility to pass our blessings along to others. In short, we did not get what we have by our own merits, but by the graciousness of God. As God has blessed us, we are to bless others.  ~John L. Hopkins, Resident Bishop of East Ohio Conference
